Corrections policy

GTA Explained editorial team · Published

We want every fact on GTA Explained to be right, and we’d rather hear about a mistake than leave it up.

How to report an error

Email contact@gtaexplained.com and include:

  • the address of the page
  • what you think is wrong
  • a source that shows the correct information, if you have one

We read every report and check it against the official source or credible reporting.

How we fix mistakes

  1. We correct the fact in our data first. Every page that uses that fact changes with it the next time the site is rebuilt.
  2. If the change matters to what a page tells you, we add a visible correction note to that page, saying what changed and when.
  3. We record the correction in the log below.

Corrections and updates

Not every change is a correction. When news changes something that was right at the time, for example when a date moves or a rumor is confirmed, we update the fact and its status label. That’s an update, not a correction. Our fact pages show the date their facts were last checked.
