Here’s every GTA 6 date we’re tracking from November 9 to December 10, in order. Times are Eastern (ET) and UTC. For your own time zone, use our release time tool.

On the labels: Confirmed means the company or organizer said so, Reported means outlets said so, Rumor is an unconfirmed insider claim, and Expected is our own estimate.

November 9 to 12: pre-load

November 18 and 19: launch

  • Nov 18, about 6 to 7 AM ET / 11:00 to 12:00 UTC: Rumor: the review embargo lifts. Insider Gaming backs the date and a forum post gave the time, but Rockstar and Take-Two have confirmed neither. Some outlets may reportedly wait until 12:01 AM ET / 05:01 UTC on Nov 19. Rumor
  • Nov 18, 6 AM ET / 11:00 UTC: GTA 6 unlocks first in New Zealand, at midnight local time on Nov 19. Confirmed
  • Nov 18, 7 PM ET / Nov 19, 00:00 UTC: The UK unlocks. Most of continental Europe unlocks an hour earlier. Confirmed
  • Nov 18, 7 PM ET / Nov 19, 00:00 UTC: The Miami Heat host A Night in Vice City against the Milwaukee Bucks on ESPN. Confirmed
  • Nov 19, 12 AM ET / 05:00 UTC: The US and Canada unlock in one window on PS5, which is 9 PM PT on Nov 18. Xbox timing in the US is less clear. Reported
  • Nov 19, 1 AM ET / 06:00 UTC: The last reported PS5 window: Mexico and parts of Central America. Reported
  • Nov 19: Rockstar’s free printable Leonida map arrives on its website. Confirmed

November 20 to December 10: after launch

  • Nov 20: The pre-order bonus covers purchases made before this date. No time zone is given, so treat Nov 19 as your last safe day. Confirmed
  • Nov 21, 12 AM ET / 05:00 UTC: The Game Awards cutoff, 9 PM PT on Nov 20. GTA 6 qualifies by one day. Confirmed
  • Nov 27 and 30: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. GTA 6 discounts are possible, but none are announced. Expected
  • Nov 30: The reported eligibility cutoff for The Game Awards’ fan-voted Players’ Voice category. Reported
  • Dec 10: The Game Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Confirmed

No date yet

  • First sales announcement: Take-Two announced GTA V’s $1 billion three days after launch. A repeat would land around Nov 20 to 23, but nobody has promised one. Expected
  • The Game Awards nominees: usually out by mid-November. Expected
